Yoga

Thanks for signing up to get notified when I’ll be teaching live yoga classes!

A little about me and my yoga journey. I took my first yoga class in May 2012, when my sister suggested a 30 day trial at a hot yoga studio. I gained an appreciation for Bikram-style, hot yoga classes. That first class kicked my butt, but the next day I felt so good, that I went again and again. Might as well, since I already paid $30 for 30 days. I probably went every single day that May and then signed up for the full membership.

After three years of practicing hot yoga, I realized yoga had made me a more focused, less anxious, and over-all happier person! I made the decision to get my 200-hour teacher training certification in 2015 to help more people find these benefits of yoga.

I believe yoga is for everyone. In addition to the physical benefits it presents, yoga provides a safe, non-judgmental space where one can clear one’s mind, reduce symptoms of anxiety and depression, and become more focused on what really matters in life. In a technology- and social media-driven world, where we are constantly comparing ourselves to others, we need the time to clear the mind.

My goal is to create a non-judgmental and accessible space where students of all ages, stages and sizes feel welcome, as well as make yoga class fun!

Music

There is benefit to doing yoga in silence, but sometimes you just want some music to help you chill out.

Check out my chill yoga playlist below. It will open in a new tab, so you can play it while you watch the video below and do some simple poses for releasing your low back and hips.

17-min yoga sequence for low back and hips

Here is a short yoga sequence to stretch out your low back and hips, where we hold a lot of tension and stress. And this gives you a sample of my teaching style.

While practicing yoga, take caution and listen to your body. Remember feeling discomfort can be okay and signals moving deeper into a pose, pain is never okay.
